"Steal like an artist." - Austin Kleon

The best way to learn something is to create your own based on the work of the best in their field.
Inspired by the magnificent work of Future Deluxe, I created this non-commercial video dedicated to advertising the NioLife Thermos. This project is something like a cover.
The essence of which is to show the thermos as a satellite in different parts of the world and at different times of the year. From Antarctica to the lifeless desert, from the green spring to the icy sea surrounded by an iceberg, the NioLife thermos will always keep your tea the way you want.

Process and some Tips

As they say, "Strengthening the strong, get rid of the weak".
my strengths are shading, lighting, animation, composition, simulation.
and the weak ones are directing and editing a lot of scenes.

Therefore, inspired by the Future Deluxe project, I borrowed most of the glues and basic movements of the main object, because repeating this was part of my training. But as for composition, light, shading and simulations, I used all my knowledge and abilities to make something new and unique.

The main goal was to make the project in 2 weeks.
And my process looked like this.

A few tips before you're going to embark on such a big project (there were 14 full-fledged individual scenes).

Build your own folder structure and naming and stick to them throughout the whole project.

Break the project into small subtasks, and break each subtask into smaller tasks, the main idea is that you can do each task that you mark in one focus time.

For example, my task list looked like this:
01. Blocking
      01.1 find references
       01.2 find a 3d model
       01.3 assemble a moodboard
01.4 collect all the scenes with the main object and cubes for an approximate composition.
02. Animatic
03. Stillfames
     ....
04. RnD
     ....
05. Draft Render
06. Final Render
     ....
07. Publication
     ....

01. Blocking

2 hours for this. The main task is not to get steamed up, do it quickly and without perfectionism

02. Animatic

6 hours for this task, the main thing is to make the main animation without going into details
03. Stillframes

A week of work. The most difficult stage that requires the most time and effort. It was at this stage that the thermos was modeled, the study of light, materials, and details took place.

04. RnD

4 days for this stage. Here I developed simulations of earth, water and sand in Houdini, searched for information, collected setups and tested them.

05. Draft

1 day at this stage, I rendered all 14 scenes in low quality and made the necessary edits on animation and composition.

06. SFX

At this stage, I turned to audial.team to create SFX, the sound designer coped with his work 100% in just 4 hours.

07. HQ or Final Render

The final part took about a day to render in the final quality. I used the Render Queue function in Cinema 4D and periodically checked the rendering process.
